So yesterday was a normal working day for me.
Apparently not for other people, and apparently also not for the people for which I pay a service charge to keep my parking garage spot clean.
Last year I had to dig out my car three times myself, because they failed to clean the parking garage, and didn’t clean it eight consecutive days in which it had snowed. Yesterday it snowed about 25cm in one day and when I came back from work and drove onto the parking garage towards my spot the first thing I did was get stuck. It took me about 20 minute of rocking back and forth to get off the parking garage again and eventually I had to park the car on the street. So that’s what I pay my service charge for.
This morning I went to have a look, and lo and behold: the parking garage was “cleaned”. So there’s been a big machine with a very wide shield and it cleared the main passage, pushing all the snow on a long high edge behind the cars. That’s it. So in the end it’s good that I didn’t manage to get to my parking spot, because if I had, I’d definitely would’ve been digging out my car again.
So the above picture is my parking spot at 10.30 this morning. The car next to my spot is a good reference of how much snow there is. The picture below is the typical example of how -IF they do- the place is cleaned.
I’ve now requested a spot inside the garage instead of on top. That should save me a lot of trouble.
